If you've decided to head down the building road, then the first step to attaining your brand new home is the planning stage. If you're not purchasing something “off-the-plan” or of the kit variety, and instead are after a unique, custom-built home, then you'll need to engage the services of an architect.
Most people know Architects as "planners", if you're after someone to put your dream home on paper you go and see an architect. Offering far more than a drawing service however, architects are also qualified to provide a range of other services, including development assessments and project management - both extremely time consuming but necessary tasks during the building process.
We charge Architects a small fee to express interest in your needs, but you are not obligated to choose anyone if the quotes or the businesses aren't to your liking.
