It all started with Allan’s lovely post on Facebook:
“Thanks guys!!! This time last year I remember getting a call from my boss telling me not to come to work cause its raining, and will be raining for the whole week. I needed to do something for extra cash as I was getting married soon!! So I decided to create a profile on True Local which then put me onto your website. I had a look through your web site and saw you guys offered me 20 free credits to try your web site if I signed up. So I did. Out of the 3 jobs I quoted on I got 1. And the story goes… Been with you guys for a year now and have never looked back… though today I got a chance to write this cause funny enough, Its raining!!”
Such a heartwarming story, that we decided to follow up with Allan and find a bit more about him – and his business, Handyman Tastic & Co.
What does your business do?
Carpentry, building & property maintenance, landscaping & gardening, internal fit out & bathroom renovations.
How many jobs have you quoted on?
First month 10 quotes, then it went up to about 30 by the 10th month.

How many new customers have you won?
I have lost count!
Is ServiceSeeking.com.au successful in helping you win work?
Service Seeking has been a real blessing to me. At times it can get overwhelming on the amount of leads you can get per day. I have expanded into other areas and I have put on 2 full time staff. Handyman Tastic & Co is currently in meetings with other trades to try and create an “all trade company.”
What other types of marketing does your business do?
Local Paper, Yellow Pages, Website and True Local.
How do they compare to ServiceSeeking.com.au?
Yellow Pages are a waste of time!
Websites are nice to look at, when you finally get it up and going! But you only get about 1 job every 3 months.
Google can be costly!
True Local only targets the local area hence the name! 1 job a month.
Any tips for new businesses?
If you submit an expression of interest for a lead, then you need to follow through with a call. Communication is a must! Be honest and never promise the world if you can’t back it up. And, make sure you’re on time, even if you promise to be there at 7am for a quote.
