ServiceSeeking.com.au provided me with all the tools I needed to get my business up and running to the point it’s at today.
I have not needed to advertise in local papers as yet because of the amount of people asking for work through the website. For me ServiceSeeking.com.au was my main source of finding work and still is and I cannot thank you enough.
Without the site I would not be in the position I am today, instead of me waiting for the phone to ring and advertising everywhere I go online and chase my own work.
I studied for 3 years at CIT in Canberra and 1 full year on the tools to achieve my Journeyman’s Ticket, then went back to tech for 2 nights a week (6 hrs) for 1.5 years in my own time to get my Plumbing license and become a contractor. I am not a Gas contractor as yet but can sign off on any water, sanitary or drainage work with my license.
I set my business up primarily to just do plumbing in all fields of my trade, and then I started to quote a lot of work through ServiceSeeking.com.au. At the time there were a few bathroom renovations and every time I went to a customer’s house to do a quote they would ask if I had a tiler or electrician or a carpenter or a plasterer and if I could manage the job for them as they had a career of their own and did not have the time or patience to deal with all the different trades.
I did not have all these as I was new to Perth and was not winning as many quotes as I could have so I sat down and made some calls put some ads up on the site. This is where I found Ben (Shami Tiling). Then I was on another job and met Andrew (Electrician). My friend moved over from Canberra as well and he was a carpenter (Heaton) so I had all my main trades now for renovating bathrooms and kitchens etc.
As a team with everyone involved I have just finished renovating a bathroom/laundry another bathroom and a spare room in a house in Hilton (50-60yr old house). We found these customers on the site and they are amazed at the change in their house, in just over 3 weeks (check out the before and after pics).
