Or at least on our Facebook cover pic – but only if you’re our business of the week!
We thought it was time to celebrate the super knowledgeable businesses who regularly participate in discussions on our Facebook page with a “Business of the Week” award.
Every Thursday afternoon we’ll pick a new winner to feature as our Facebook cover pic for the week. We’ll also do a little write-up on your business on our blog (here!)
We have over 2,000 Facebook fans and our blog receives over 500 visits per day, so you’ll get some great exposure for your business. We’re sure it’ll make a great talking point with potential customers, too!
To be in the running, either join in the latest discussion or post some pics of some recent work you’ve completed for a customer you’ve won through our site (no spam please!)
We’re kicking things off with an awesome Facebook-friendly maintenance business, Acclaimed Maintenance Services
We had a quick chat with owner Justin Schaller to find out how he’s used ServiceSeeking.com.au to help build his successful business.
What does your business do?
We are a complete property maintenance crew, covering everything from general handyman fixes, to full scale painting, carpentry and gyprock & plasterboard services, and just recently we have partnered with an industry veteran to supply and install super high quality security door systems.
How many jobs have you quoted on?
I would say between 600 and 700 to date – we service many areas of the market, often making it significantly easier and cheaper for a customer to use us as a general solution, rather than a trade-specific company which charges high call-out fees and has long wait periods.
How many new customers have you won?
I’ve lost count – though I’d say we average 3-4 jobs per week. We aren’t a building company, nor do we particularly aim to be – so when a request comes through, we can often have someone onsite the next day, and depending on the job, can have it completed long before other crews even respond. And because most of our guys are employed (not contracted to) we can get a complete team together very quickly when necessary – ultimately resulting in a faster turn around, and a happier customer.
Is ServiceSeeking.com.au successful in helping you win work?
It kinda speaks for itself. The initial expenses can be high, but now we are structured to respond quickly to the requests, it’s a breeze and work quite literally comes to us. ServiceSeeking.com.au absolutely helps us win work.
What other types of marketing does your business do?
Very little – we have a strong presence online, with many “free” listings who are always chasing us to upgrade and all the rest, but the fact is that it has been word of mouth and chasing contracts has proven the most profitable. From the beginning, the business was set up to require very little continual funding, and it’s working well thus far.
How do they compare to ServiceSeeking.com.au?
With 90% of our (non contract) work originating online through targeted SEO, it is difficult to compare – ServiceSeeking is the only “Marketing” we pay for, for the simple reason that I can measure the results on a daily basis – Not by hits on a webpage or “likes” on a company profile, but by real, cold, hard, cash. These are the only results that matter when it comes to marketing.
Any tips for new businesses?
Do it properly. Underquoting to get work makes you look like a fool, not a success.
