Well she’s not physically getting her hands dirty, but she’s still getting caught up in the chaotic world of renovations.
While the heritage-listedĀ Lodge is undergoing necessary repair and renovation works, Julia has to move out. And just like your typical home renovator she doesn’t know exactly how long the renovations will take and is at the mercy of tradies.
The renovations are said to be for “security purposes” and include the replacement of the slate roof, removal of hazardous materials, electrical rewiring, replacement of the guard houses, replacement of the heating and air-conditioning, plumbing repairs, fire protection and stormwater repairs.
Since, as taxpayers, we’re the ones forking out for this revamp, let’s hope she’s shopped around for some decent quotes!
If someone else was paying for your renovations, what would you get done?
I thinkĀ I’d take a leaf out of Julia’s book and install some heating – maybe a toasty gas fireplace!?
