How can I win more bids?

ServiceSeeking.com.au is an open marketplace so everyone has a fair chance at winning new customers. Here are some tips to help you get ahead.

  1. Make sure your business profile is fully updated with all contact and address information, details about your education, experience, and qualifications. Customers want to know whether you are trustworthy.
  2. Get a Service Score! Consider doing one job for a discount price so you can get a score. Once you have a score, you can trade off this to win more bids.
  3. Open your communication with a detailed quote, not just a one-liner. Customers choose a bidder on the basis of both price and quality. Feel free to introduce yourself and your business and make it clear exactly what you can offer for your opening price.
  4. Build rapport with the customer. Trust is an important factor in their decision so:
reply to all communications with efficiency and consideration
provide guarantees, certifications, and license numbers
offer a face-to-face meeting, phone call or site inspection to discuss the customer’s plans
  5. Update your bid to stay ahead of the competition. Keep up to date with the status of the project you are interested in.
  6. If other more competitive providers come along you can try to either
Explain why the customer should pay more for your services. Do you have a better guarantee? Are you better qualified? Can you do the job faster? Do you have a higher Service Score?
Drop your price to match your competitors.
