Pruning and trimming are necessary if you want to keep your trees healthy. Hiring a professional arborist to do it for you will cost you around $45/hr. Prices can either go up or down depending on the size of the tree or how easy it is to access. Generally, though, you can expect to pay as little as $40/hr to as much as $55/hr.
For $150, Graham was able hire a professional arborist to trim the fronds of two palm trees in his home in New South Wales.
For a standard tree pruning job, arborists charge around $214.53. This is only the average price, and it can still change depending on the specific tasks involved.
When it comes to tree pruning and tree trimming, it’s better to leave the job to professionals. It’s safer and more convenient this way. However, you should know the factors that go into how much these tradies charge as this will enable you to get the best value for your money. Arborists usually make the following considerations:
Size of the tree
Taller trees are harder to trim; that’s why the job takes longer to finish. Moreover, it’s only natural that trimming a taller tree will cost more than trimming a smaller one.
Ease of access
Trees can sometimes grow so tall that they become hard to reach. You’ll need to pay more if additional equipment will be required for the tree pruner to successfully complete the job.
Normally, an arborist’s quote only involves the tree pruning service itself. It doesn’t include additional work such as the disposal of the trimmed tree branches. You’ll have to pay extra if you want to have that done as well.
Costs per state
Most states agree on the same rate with regard to tree pruning and trimming services. Arborists in Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia charge approximately $45/hr.
The only exception is New South Wales where hiring a professional tree pruner costs about $52.50/hr.
