We caught up with one of the winners of our Snap Your Job competition, Sam Peplow, to find out about his recent renovation with ServiceSeeking.com.au. Hear what he had to say about getting jobs done the easy way.
Hey Sam, tell us a bit about yourself and how long you’ve been using ServiceSeeking.com.au?
I’m from Elizabeth East in Adelaide and have been using ServiceSeeking.com.au for about a year now. Last year I posted a few jobs but I hadn’t gone through with any until recently. I hired a business for one job and he ended up doing two for me.
Can you describe the jobs you got done?
Well for the first job I got my kitchen pulled out and two walls removed, and he had to put up a huge six and a half metre steel beam. And that turned out well.
The other job was the sliding door. I had a window in the lounge room that I wanted to open up, so the wall got removed and opened up to the living room, lounge and kitchen. Then I wanted a sliding door from the lounge and outside so I could easily access the backyard. Eventually we’ll get a big deck built there too.
Who was the business you hired and why?
It was Tony from Renos R Us. I chose him because he got back to me first and I read his reviews, he had 32 of them and the large majority were positive. He came out to inspect the job and his price was really reasonable. I liked him so I went with him.
Why did you use ServiceSeeking.com.au for your renovation?
If there’s a job I can’t do myself, ServiceSeeking is the way to go. I like the fact that the tradies want to work and they’re going to find and contact me. I’ve messaged people on other websites before and haven’t even had a reply – at least with ServiceSeeking the tradies actually want to work.
I’d 100% recommend other users to try. You get free quotes and you don’t necessarily have to go with them. It’s great, especially if you don’t have much time to hunt for tradies yourself. There’s lots of them on there, even in the smaller states like South Australia.
