Arinna Solar: Building a Solar Business Around Customer Trust
Meet Arinna Solar, a renewable energy business built on industry experience, customer service, referrals and a focus on reliable solar solutions.
Arinna Solar has built its growth on two things: reliability and trust.
Vicky founded the solar business in 2015, building on his early experience as a door-knocker in the industry, and it has grown into a business focused on solar and renewable energy solutions. Today, Arinna Solar works with homeowners and businesses, with many new customers coming through referrals from past clients.
Vicky’s experience across both the energy and solar sectors shaped the way he wanted to run the company. After working for other businesses, he noticed that customer service, communication and after-sales support were areas where the industry could improve.
“I regularly shared suggestions and ideas with management to improve these processes, but many of them were never implemented.”
That experience eventually prompted him to start Arinna Solar.
“I wanted to build a company where customer satisfaction genuinely comes first and where the mistakes I had seen in the industry would not be repeated.”
Experience shaped the business
Vicky began his career in solar in early 2015, working as a door-knocker and gaining first-hand experience of the industry. He later moved into the energy sector before returning to solar with a broader understanding of the market and what customers needed.
That background became the foundation for Arinna Solar.
The business focuses on helping customers understand their options rather than treating solar as a straightforward sales transaction. Vicky believes customers are better placed to make decisions when they understand the products, installation process and expected performance of a system.
“We take the time to explain everything clearly and transparently, from system performance and product quality to installation processes and expected outcomes.”
The approach also helps customers compare different systems and energy solutions based on what suits their circumstances, rather than simply choosing the cheapest option.
For Vicky, this is particularly relevant in an industry where customers can easily find themselves dealing with unfamiliar technical information.
“Many of our clients appreciate that we prioritise their long-term satisfaction over short-term sales, and that trust often leads to repeat business and referrals to family and friends.”
Referrals have become a major source of new work
Much of Arinna Solar’s growth has come through existing customers recommending the business to others.
Vicky says the company’s focus on customer satisfaction and long-term relationships has helped create a steady stream of referrals. Some customers also return when they need further energy services, including for investment properties or future upgrades.
“We also worked with many repeat customers who trust us not only for their first home, but also for their investment properties and future energy upgrades.”
The business has also developed an online presence to reach customers searching for renewable energy solutions. Referrals and online enquiries now work alongside each other, helping Arinna Solar continue to build its customer base.
ServiceSeeking has also played a role in that growth.
“We really had a good experience working with ServiceSeeking, and it helped to acquire new customers by promoting our business profile on it.”
Keeping track of every customer
As the business has grown, technology has become part of the day-to-day operation.
Arinna Solar uses an all-in-one CRM to manage leads and customers throughout the pipeline. The system gives the team a central place to keep track of enquiries and customer progress.
“We use an all-in-one CRM that helps to track each and every lead and customer in the pipeline so we are never behind on anything.”
For a business where enquiries can develop into consultations, installations and future work, having a clear view of each customer helps the team stay organised.
Learning through the difficult periods
Like many business owners, Vicky has experienced periods when projects or plans have not gone as expected. His approach is to look closely at what has gone wrong and work out what needs to change.
“Every business and every man will have a tough time, which means there might be something that hasn't gone as per the plan or schedule.”
Rather than dwelling on the setback, he looks for the missing information or solution. That can involve researching a problem online, learning more about a particular area and working through possible solutions.
“Learn online about and it explore find the solution is the only method i use to resolve the issue.”
That willingness to keep learning also shows in how Vicky approaches the renewable energy industry, which continues to develop as new products and energy technologies enter the market.
Making room for the team
Arinna Solar’s approach to work-life balance relies partly on having a team that can share responsibilities.
“We have a dedicated team to split the work, and we also plan Occasional holidays and team outings so the team works with passion and motivation, and we have a work-life and personal life balance.”
For Vicky, having people who can take responsibility for different parts of the business makes it easier for the team to manage its workload while maintaining time outside work.
It is also part of how he views sustainable business growth. The company’s focus is not only on bringing in new customers, but on building a team and systems that can support the business as it develops.
Measuring success through the work itself
For Arinna Solar, sales are one measure of performance, but Vicky also looks closely at what happens after an installation.
“Success is measured by how many sales we did in a year and how many installations have complaints about them. If there are fewer complaints, it means we achieved real success.”
That measure reflects how much the business values the customer experience after a job is completed.
Vicky identifies reliability and trust as the two key ingredients for business growth. After more than a decade of experience in the solar and energy sectors, those principles continue to shape how Arinna Solar works with its customers and approaches the next stage of its growth.
