Summer used ServiceSeeking to compare plumbers and quotes quickly before replacing her electric hot water system in Algester, QLD.
When Summer needed to replace the electric hot water system at her home in Algester, QLD, she wanted to understand her options before committing to a plumber. She turned to ServiceSeeking.com.au, where she could post the job and hear from several local businesses.
For Summer, the main advantage was being able to compare options without spending too much time finding plumbers individually. She found the experience “better” than other ways of finding local businesses because “It made it easy to compare different plumbers and get several quotes quickly. I was able to find a suitable plumber at a reasonable price.”
The job involved replacing her existing electric hot water system, which was installed outside on the ground and hard-wired to the switchboard. Summer was also considering a Dux 160L 3.6kW Proflo Electric Storage Water Heater and asked businesses for an all-inclusive quote covering the unit, installation, labour, removal of the old system, and any required fittings or valves.
Among the businesses that responded was Luke of Pulse Hot Water, a local family-owned plumbing and gasfitting business servicing Brisbane and surrounding areas.
What stood out to Summer was how quickly the quotes came through. “I was impressed by how quickly I received multiple quotes from different businesses.”
Having several responses gave her a way to compare plumbers and prices before deciding who to hire. She ultimately found a suitable plumber at a price she was comfortable with and got the hot water replacement completed smoothly.
After the job was finished, Summer described herself as “Relieved and happy that I was able to find a suitable plumber and get the job done smoothly.”
Her experience also highlights a practical benefit of comparing quotes before booking a local tradie. Rather than relying on a single option, homeowners can see what different businesses offer and choose the quote that suits their job.
Summer has not recommended ServiceSeeking.com.au to a friend yet, but she said she would: “I would recommend it because it makes it easy to compare different businesses and get multiple quotes quickly.”
