One hinge. That was the whole problem. The nails holding it to the cupboard frame had worked loose, and the door in Sunny's Alexandria kitchen was hanging at an angle, threatening to come off completely.
She posted the job on ServiceSeeking.com.au and had replies within a short window — enough of them, and quickly enough, that she could be selective. Her method was simple: she stuck to tradespeople with five-star ratings and compared prices from there. It's not a complicated system, but for Sunny, it's worked well enough that she rates the platform above other ways she's tried to find local businesses in the past.
Jeison Moreno, of PLUMA Joinery and Design, was the one who got the job.
What stayed with Sunny wasn't just that the hinge got fixed — it was everything around it. Jeison offered a warranty on the repair and told her to call if the problem resurfaced. Then, without being asked, he took a look at a door in her study that had a similar issue and sorted that too.
"Jaison is a very nice person and polite," she wrote afterwards. "He didn't just fix my kitchen cupboard door; he gave me a warranty. I can call him if the door has the same problem again in the near future. He also fixed my study area door without any changes."
She's already told friends to use ServiceSeeking, for the same reason she keeps coming back to it herself: it's simply what she uses now when something in the house needs fixing.
