Selling a house isn’t easily done without a good deal of preparations and sprucing up of your property. After all, curb appeal means as much as what’s inside the home you aim to sell. The following tips will give you the basics of what you can do to help move things along:

Begin with the lawn

Apart from hiring a good lawn mowing service, you can also do a couple more steps to keep your lawn in perfect shape. Get a good-quality weed killer combined with phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium. Combine it with organic herbicides to destroy the growth of weeds. You can send your soil to your state or county’s agricultural resource centre for pH testing. You will need to have a good level of pH if you want to have a good and thriving garden and lawn. You may need to spray lime on the lawn to raise the pH or sulphur to lower it.

Trimming

Make sure you remove any branches that touch the home, blocking the way or covering any windows. Whatever plants are present around the home, you should make sure they are at least a foot away from the building to ensure mould growth will be down to a minimum.

Mulching

Whether you choose traditional mulch or the kind that happens to keep its colours during the season, you should make sure you work with it. Having a good first impression is an excellent way of making sure you have a working relationship with your future buyers. Chipped mulch lasts longer. However, shredded mulch looks better. Whatever your choice, make sure you freshen it up before you begin your sales efforts.

Edging the flowerbeds

This is one of the easiest and most useful ways to make your yard look great and groomed. Avoid the plastic variety of edging. Stick to a string between sticks and push that down with a sharp spade several inches down into the soil.

Power washing

You can get rid of dirt, cobwebs, mould and more from your fences, windows, patios, decks and more. You can use power washing to blast these areas and easily clean them.  Just remember not to spray under the siding or the soffit vents, as the moisture can cause a great deal of problems.

Plant annual plants

You can make your home look amazing by simply putting up perennials. They work very well for a long-term gardening solution. However, you should keep in mind they can be hard to deal with during blooming seasons. You can also work with hanging baskets and potted flowers for an alternate solution.
