(28 March 2017) The latest data from find-a-tradie website ServiceSeeking.com.au highlights the most profitable areas for tradies operating in New South Wales. The study identifies several areas where trades are in short supply, revealing the rivers of gold where tradies can expect to make big bucks.

Builders in Dubbo and Orana have 69 per cent less competition versus the national average. The undersupply is a positive sign for Regional NSW builders who will win more jobs and expect to make bigger profit than tradies in other areas of the state.

Skilled builders in the South Coast of NSW also stand to win more jobs than the national average.

“If you’re a builder in the South Coast or Regional NSW, the undersupply in Dubbo or Shoalhaven is a huge opportunity,” says ServiceSeeking.com.au CEO Jeremy Levitt. “It’s a great chance for builders to increase their prices and capitalise on the lack of supply.”

Carpenters in the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley regions are also severely undersupplied. The lack of competition means that targeting these high demand areas will prove highly lucrative for NSW chippies.

Newcastle is the place to be for painters, who face the least amount of competition statewide, at 50 percent less competition than national average.

Plasterers and tilers should look towards the South Coast if wanting to take full advantage of the undersupply.

“There are rivers of gold for tradies all over New South Wales, they just need to know where to look. Targeting areas where there’s less competition is a great way for tradies to jump in and make serious money.”

Quotes per job are derived by analysing a sample of 52,000 quotes submitted during the FY17 Q2 through ServiceSeeking.com.au, the website for getting any job done from tradies to professional services.
