(28 March 2017) Western Australia’s economy may be going from boom to bust, but for some WA tradies it’s not all bad news. Data released today by find-a-tradie website ServiceSeeking.com.au identifies several areas where trades are in short supply, revealing the rivers of gold where tradies can expect to make big bucks.

According to the statistics, builders in Mandurah and surrounds have 74% fewer competitors than the national average. The undersupply is a positive sign for Southern WA builders, who are likely win more jobs in these areas.

Similarly, carpenters in Perth can expect to win more jobs in the Eastern Suburbs where there is an apparent shortage of skilled chippies.  

“Our latest tradie rich list revealed that Perth carpenters were getting paid around $58 per hour, which is significantly less than plumbers and sparkies in the same city”, says ServiceSeeking.com.au CEO Jeremy Levitt.

“This new data suggests there’s a real opportunity for chippies in the Eastern Suburbs to get back in the game by taking full advantage of the lack of competition.”

Bunbury and the surrounding area is the place to be for painters, who face 80 percent less competition than the national average.

Plumbers and tilers should look towards Busselton-Dunsborough & surrounding areas if wanting to increase their prices and take advantage of the lack of competition.

“There are rivers of gold for tradies all over Western Australia, they just need to know where to look. Targeting areas where there’s less competition is a great way for tradies to jump in and make serious money.”
