Let’s start with your website. Think of it as your online office receptionist. It’s a venue or a page on the internet where people can see what services/products you offer, your credentials, experience, and basically any public info that you want to share.  It’s actually a great place to showcase your work.

An email address, on the other hand, is like an online mailbox. It’s a personal account where people can send you letters, documents, billings, etc.

websites vs email address

Still confused? Here are some things to look out for.

Email addresses will always have “@” in them. E.g. mick@mycarpentrybusiness.com
Websites will usually start with “www” or “http://www.” Eg. www.mickscarpentry.com.au or http://www.mickscarpentry.com.au

Do I really need a website?

That is a good question. Nowadays, more and more customers use the internet to look for services and/or products that they need. Small businesses and big corporations alike know this and utilise the Internet to increase sales and profit.

What are the advantages of having a website:

– Target a wider market
– Be accessible to customers 24/7
– Increase your sales
– Save you time and potentially money

Think about it. If your business has no website, potential customers will go to competitors that do.

Keep in mind, though, that not just any website will do. A website will speak volumes about your business. It can say “We’re a competent business hence the professional website” or “I just asked my teenage nephew to make this website hence the black background and red font!” If you want your customers to take your business seriously, then a professional website is your best bet.

What’s the cost of a website?

Website prices depend on the requirements of the business—the more complex the design, the higher the cost.

At ServiceSeeking.com.au, we’ll build your website for free to show you how it will look. There’s no risk at all. If you like it, we’ll upload it to the internet for $24.95/month. The price includes hosting.

We’ll also do the following:

– Draft all the content – you don’t need to lift a finger.
– Make changes to it whenever you want.
– It’s your website – you can market it any way you want.
– Throw in optional extras
– Provide a logo if you don’t have one ($59 one-off).

Compared with the cost of a newspaper ad, flyers, handouts, etc, having a website is a very cost-effective and easy way to promote your business.

We’ve built a range of websites for registered businesses. For more info or website samples, please go to www.serviceseeking.com.au
