Thilak is the founder of THISEN FOTO & ART. Thilak’s love for photography and art began as a little boy. His parents, who gave him an Instamatic Kodak camera on his 12th birthday, inspired his career path. This talented young man found an outlet through photography to express his artistic imaginations.
His passion for art, design and fashion made him not only a popular fashion and commercial photographer, but also a successful wedding photographer within a very short period of time in Sri Lanka, USA and Australia. Thilak’s experience in different ceremonies and traditions in the field of wedding photography was an added advantage to his success. He has acted in an advisory capacity in many local and international projects of visual, radio and television media.
THISEN FOTO was retained by several international corporations including Air Lanka, Hotel Ceylon Intercontinental, Hilton Hotel Colombo, Sri Lanka Tourist Board, Korea’s KeangNam and Japan’s Ceylon Commany group. The company was also the official photographer for Miss Sri Lanka’s entry into the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants. By the mid 1980’s THISEN FOTO was a household name in wedding photography, producing customised albums that became must-have memorabilia for newlyweds in Sri Lanka.
The year 2000 was very special to THISEN FOTO as they managed to open a branch in Australia named THISEN FOTO & ART, which is currently specializing in wedding and commercial photography. Apart from the photography aspect, Thilak Sen has an impressive collection of artistic works that have been exhibited internationally.
