JANE CAMERON ARCHITECTS is an emerging architecture and interiors practice specializing in bespoke residential design. It is a client orientated practice where each design evolves from working closely with the client to understand their individual brief and aspiration; with the end result being a tailored personalized design. The practice’s philosophy is based on the foundation of modernism that uses materiality and light to create spaces that appeal to the senses and transcend time. The practice is based in Melbourne and undertakes works in the inner-city, coastal and rural areas.
JANE CAMERON ARBV RAIA
Jane is a highly accomplished architect with over sixteen years of post-graduate experience; including seven years based in London. As project architect she has completed projects in Barcelona, Dallas, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, London, Melbourne, Moscow, Riyadh and Sydney. She has worked on a number of award winning projects.
Jane’s international career began at Mark Pinney Associates; who have an impressive client list of luxury fashion brands. Her achievements at the practice include the Burberry’s Flagship Stores in London, Barcelona, and Red Square, Moscow; amongst others.
Following this Jane worked with the French product and interior designer Philippe Starck; who is said to be the most famous and prolific designer alive. As senior concept designer she travelled between London and USA working on luxury residential developments in Dallas, Miami and Gloustershire, England.
Later Jane joined Eva Jiřičná Architects, who is famous for her signature glass staircases. Whilst at the practice Jane was responsible for the English Jewellers ‘Boodles’ flagship store on the famous New Bond Street, London.
Following seven years based in London Jane return to her homeland of Australia. In 2010 she launched her own design practice, Jane Cameron Architects, in the inner city of Melbourne. She has taken her extensive experience in the international high-end fashion industry and residential sector to focus on residential architecture and interiors.
Jane’s contributions to the profession through the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) include speaking engagements, taking part in the Victorian Architecture Awards jury and Member Services Committee, tutoring on the Practice of Architecture Learning Series, and mentoring emerging architects through the Constructive Mentoring Program. Jane has also been a sessional tutor in architecture at the University of Melbourne.
