"Man this guy really knows his stuff. My old antenna was up for only 7 years with an antenna mounted on a solid 3.4m mast high on the ridge of the roof supported by 3 guywires. It collapsed recently during moderate winds. Upon inspection we found all the guywires, turn buckles and roof mount bolts were rusting badly and that a roof bolt had subsequently failed. Needless to say it was all cheap rubbish made in China. We also found the antenna cable had pulled out of the booster on the mast indicating it wasnt tightened properly by the previous installer and so was also the cause of my ongoing reception issues. Esmail suggested an alternative way to mount the new antenna avoiding use of (now) unreliable guywires. Esmail initially suggested a side mount over the gutter attached directly to the rafters to avoid drilling through the tiles as this can present water proofing problems. The side mount also gave easy access if the antenna needed to be checked in future. Esmail checked different parts of the roof for the best reception. We ended up finding a good location where there was an old but solid wall mount used for an old antenna. Esmail is big on using solutions that require minimum hardware and maintenance and this also keeps your costs down. Consequently he also suggested avoiding the use of a signal booster if possible as that is another thing that can go wrong and he was right again! Perfect reception and no booster. Unbeliveable. Just goes to show that doing your own research and not copying what others have done pays off. Hence if you want a solid and relaible antenna system that wont cost you the earth and minimises the possibility of problems in future then go with this guy. He also trades as Chief Antennas"
