Survey: 80% of consumers use more than one method to find a business.

When looking for local businesses, most consumers use many methods to get quotes. In our exit survey, we ask customers where they looked for businesses, including options outside of our site.

Just 20% of customers looking for quotes from local businesses said they used ServiceSeeking.com.au alone.

40% of customers used two methods – the most common combination was to do a Google search as well as post a job on ServiceSeeking.com.au.

A further 40% of customers used three or more methods to find local businesses.

Other than searching online, a large proportion of customers rely on referrals from friends or family – about a third of all customers ask someone to refer a business to them.

Of the traditional methods, almost twice as many customers said that they looked in the local paper (30%) than the Yellow Pages book (16%).
