What does your business do?
We’re a photography business. Weddings make up a large part of the work we do, but we also do corporate photography, portraits, commercial stuff and product photography. We’ve received work of all these types through Service Seeking.com.au

On how many jobs have you quoted?
We’ve quoted on over 600.

How many new customers have you won?
I’ve got a pretty good hit rate when I quote on jobs. So I guess I’d say maybe 80 new clients.

Is ServiceSeeking.com.au successful in helping you win new work?
Yes definitely I’d say it’s been very successful. It’d be hard to say what the total revenue is that I’ve made. Some jobs are only small, like a couple of hundred dollars, and then you get some that are big weddings for three of four thousand dollars, so it’s really hard to say.

What other types of marketing does your business do?
We have a Google campaign. We use Adwords and it’s managed by campaign manager. We also have a new website that’s launching soon and we’re hoping to drive a lot of traffic to that. We’ve actually been rated 6th in the state in wedding photography which we think is pretty good for a business of our size and we’re looking to really build on this.

How do the other forms of marketing compare to ServiceSeeking.com.au?
It’s essential for our business to have both. We couldn’t survive without Google Adwords and we couldn’t survive without ServiceSeeking.com.au either. There are still lots of people who don’t know about ServiceSeeking.com.au and so you need Google in order to reach them. In terms of value, for us ServiceSeeking.com.au is far better. We spend a huge amount on Google, so by comparison ServiceSeeking.com.au has been really good value.

Any tips for new businesses?
I’d say it’s really important to be vigilant. We get on the site a lot and bid on lots of work. It’s just common sense but you’ve got to stay on top of what work is available; you never know when good work is going to come through. Sometimes we’ll go three weeks without getting any good leads. At other times we’ll get half-a-dozen in a week. It’s all common sense stuff really.
