" After paying $3300 cash for our painting job, once the paint dried we realised the last quarter of the job was completely rushed through and looked terrible - Lots of areas had not had only had the undercoat. Andy backed out of several areas of the original quote which had been previously agreed (Ceilings, trims) and convinced me to spend another $300 on painting an area that took him less than 20 minutes to complete. He kept trying to get us to change our colour choices because he said we were making a mistake with those colours, even after the paint was bought, (the colours looked great and they just wanted to make it easier for themselves by painting a neutral colour). Andy somehow also crushed our Dyson V10 vacuum (cost $999), and then hid it away in our spare room so we wouldn't discover it until after they left. When contacted about it Andy said he has no idea how it happened but would pay for it. I could never get hold of him again, he did not pay for the vacuum repair and the paint in the lower areas of our house looks shocking. Originally he quoted 6 days to do the job working solo. The two of them did it in 2 days, which would have been great if they'd done it properly. Andy is a natural born salesperson and is a friendly guy, and had superior communication skills to the others quotes we received, however, a lot of his claims were bogus (painter for 20 years, just relocated to Manly - near us). Be very careful hiring Andy, if you had to, insist on a written quote covering inclusions/exclusions and hold back payment until the paint is dry and you have properly inspected in the daylight."
