David Ayliffe is summed up best by this referral: "David was so wonderful to us in every way possible. He was so so calm and gentle and reassuring, when I was late to appointments, or worried or nervous. At the wedding, he was amazing, so gentle, fun, and reassuring. A professional jazz singer and MC, Kimba has long been entranced by the wedding ceremony. After performing at 350+ ceremonies, Kimba has worked out all the elements needed to make a wedding ceremony flow beautifully and capture each unique couple.
I came to the work of celebrancy on a long road. Singing at hundreds of wedding ceremonies with my husband Ryan in our jazz duo, I was captivated by those ceremonies that really worked; they had a flow, everyone knew what was happening, the readings and format suited the couple and the audience felt part of it, and had their attention held. I also saw many where this was not the case. Over time I started to make notes and soon I realised that I was being called to do this, and to do it well!
I also have a passion for people and their stories, for their differences and also the things that tie us all. Modern rituals are something of a passion for me, and I love hearing about people's unique backgrounds and experiences, and working out how to incorporate these into a ceremony that really speaks to that couple and to the people that love them.
I offer a unique (optional) service that incorporates live music as part of the package. My husband plays instrumental guitar (jazz, classical, folk/acoustic and flamenco) prior to the ceremony's beginning as I support the groom/couple and welcome guests. The ceremony begins and Ryan and I play your choice of song for the aisle walk. You can easily find my music via soundcloud, spotify or good old Google.
During the signing Ryan plays more gorgeous guitar and at the closing of the ceremony, I again sing your choice of song as you are both congratulated by family and friends.
Please drop me a line and tell me your vision for the big day!
I travel all over the state of Victoria and also go to Albury Wodonga and surrounds. I may even be lured to Canberra, being born and bred there.
I also work with other ceremonies and in other contexts. I work as a doula for the dying and their families, conduct funerals, wakes and farewells. I also have an interest in women's mysteries and work including red tent rituals, menarche blessings and croning ceremonies.
